In light of the unprecedented tragedy that occurred during Monday night’s Buffalo/Cincinnati game, the NFL has decided the game will no longer be played in Week 17. Our thoughts and prayers are with Damar Hamlin and his family during this critical time as we hope for a speedy and healthy recovery. As a result of the game no longer being played in Week 17, below are details on how Gridiron Games football pools are impacted.

Overall

The below changes will take affect at the close of Tuesday and Week 18 will begin Wednesday.

We appreciate your patience as we work to navigate this unprecedented situation. If you have questions or concerns regarding the impacts below please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

NFL Pick’em Pools

Since the game will no longer be played in Week 17, it will not count towards pool results for any player (regardless if a pick was submitted or not).

For pools playing with confidence points, players will not receive any points for this game. If adjustments are needed to account for this unprecedented situation, please reach out to your pool commissioner or contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

For pools playing with tiebreakers, the Tiebreaker 1 score (combined points of the BUF @ CIN game) will not be taken into account when calculating Week 17 winners.

If a player had selected Buffalo or Cincinnati for their Tiebreaker 3 or Tiebreaker 4, their pick will be removed and a new team will need to be selected. For more information on how to edit entries after the pick deadline, please reach out to your pool commissioner or refer to our Football Pool FAQs.
